Trying to find the definition of a blog in some of my older dictionaries was a Herculean task. Therefore, I created my definition. My definition is simply a way to let off steam, network with friends, or report on my writing activities. And this is all fine. But fiction and nonfiction authors may dispute that writing a blog is far and away the best marketing vehicle ever invented by today’s authors.
“Reading makes a full man, conference a ready man, and writing an exact man,” said Bacon. Today, we embark on an adventure to provide the world with information about the history, culture, and economics that make the world tick through the words of Chile Charlie. The wordsmiths of today have stories yet to be told. We want to squeeze out those stories from all aspiring writers like Chile Charlie.
Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true– if we have the courage to pursue them.”
I remember the first time I was ready to click “publish”: wondering who would want to read about my grandfather coming to the United States, wondering where Jimmy Campbell was, or a Lonesome Priest in a small community. Talk about the courage to push that publish button was always in the back of my mind. Finally, wondering what the world would see in such stories, I pushed the button with my eyes closed. The reading world responded and gave their hard-earned money to read about “The Musings of An Ostrich Farmer” my first published book.
People read when good author write in understandable words.
