GEORGE PINTAR

George Pintar, an educator and business owner, is a contemporary New Mexican author who hails from the Midwest. He spent 25 years as a grant writer and now focuses on fictional pursuits. George started writing at 87 years of age and firmly believes it’s never too late to start a new career.

With his feline companion Sir Gallagher, George conjures up tales of years gone by that will tickle the reader’s fancy forever. A teller of tales, George dreams up humorous short, spirited stories. He is best known for his fictional character Chile Charlie, the featured protagonist of The Adventures of Chile Charlie

In his series of short stories, George portrays what life was like in some ghost towns in the southwest corner of New Mexico. Through this lively and curious character, readers are able to “visit” ghost towns in the Southwest, and hear Charlie’s sometimes tall tales of these unique places. This beloved character has received acclaim as a perceptive researcher and wordsmith.
